About Elbow Room

Elbow Room is a woman-owned ADU builder spearheaded by a dynamic duo of sisters, united by their passion for crafting meaningful spaces.

Erin has always gravitated toward compact living, having called eight homes under 800 square feet her own—her favorite being a 500-square-foot carriage house in Houston Heights. She loves the simplicity of small-space living and the design challenge of making every square foot count. Amy brings an eye for purposeful design, with expertise spanning in-law suites, home offices, fitness spaces, craft studios, and outdoor entertaining areas. Together, they saw what so many homeowners were struggling with: a construction industry that made adding space complicated, expensive, and stressful.

Living next door to each other, Erin and Amy cherish the blend of closeness and independence—the kind of everyday connection that comes from having family just steps away. That spirit is at the heart of Elbow Room.

They built Elbow Room to do things differently: four distinctive ADU models designed to maximize beauty and function, a streamlined process that eliminates guesswork, and fixed pricing so you know exactly what you're paying from day one.

Today, we've built over 100 ADUs across Central Texas, from compact studios to full residences. Each one represents a family who now has the space they need—for guests, for work, for income, for loved ones.
